Dr. Byron C. Hayes was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan where his ministry calling began at Grace Temple C.O.G.I.C under the late Superintendent J.C. Taylor. He resides in Freeland, Michigan with his wife Chestermae Hayes. They have one son, Jason Christopher Hayes. He has been the Senior Pastor of Word of Faith International Ministries of Saginaw since October 1989 in which the ministry was founded off of Romans 10:8. A faith-filled ministry open to all nationalities and backgrounds with a vision to reach the hurting and dying world through the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
After graduating from Cass Tech High School his higher education began at Wayne State University, where he completed the Emergency Medical Technician Program. He went to pursue a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Education, a Master of Arts Degree in Christian Counseling and Doctorate of Philosophy Degree in Christian Education at International Bible College and Seminary in Independence, Missouri. Before transitioning to full-time ministry, Dr. Hayes worked for St. Mary’s Hospital as a Phlebotomist/Diener-Assistant Autopsy for 15 years. Dr. Hayes completed a one year Rhema Bible Training Center Correspondence Course from the Kenneth Hagin Ministries with a certified certificate. He has also received certification in Motivation and Life Coaching by Les Brown who inspired him as a life coach instructor and mentor. He later continued knowledge after his degrees with certificates on Life Coaching, Marriage Life Coaching and How To Deal With Difficult People.
Recognized for extensive Community Service, he is the Recipient of numerous Community Awards as well as received the keys to the city of Saginaw under the Mayorship of Mayor Wilmer Ham-McZee.

Dr. Hayes is a TV Host of “Ask The Pastor” program WAQP TV which can be viewed on Charter Channel 2 and tct.tv. He has been hosting over 25 years.
